Kick off the new year with the Houston area’s premier home and garden show events featuring the latest in new ideas, innovative products and professional services to transform your home into an oasis of comfort – and the envy of your neighbors.
The Inaugural Home & Outdoor Show, featuring the latest in residential and lifestyle upgrades and enhancements will be at the Silver Street Studios in Sawyer Yards on March 7 & 8. From simple ideas on better utilization of space to amazing residential transformations, the HTown Home and Outdoor Show is a popular destination to explore home improvement and exciting new possibilities.
“There’s a lot of interest in outdoor living and making better use of yards, patios and decks,” said Tony Wood, president of Texwood Shows, Inc., producer of the home and garden shows in Sugar Land, Cy-Fair, The Woodlands, and new this year-HTown and Lake Houston. “The industry has responded with new and innovative ways for homeowners to enjoy being outside and enhance the value of their property.”
In addition to traditional additions like pools and spas, homeowners are adding outdoor kitchens, showers, breakfast nooks, sitting areas, media centers and covered patios to bring the comfort and functionality of indoors outside.
Outdoor living spaces can be created for seasonal or year-round use, depending on preference. The upgrades improve lifestyle options for homeowners and pay handsome dividends when it comes time to put the property on the market.
“Outdoor living upgrades are very hot in today’s real estate market,” said Wood. “They’re a good investment.”
Home automation is another area of interest among prospective buyers. Home theater, security and other technological advancements are making a big impact in the way homeowners enjoy and protect their most valuable asset.
“New technology enables homeowners to monitor and handle a variety of tasks via computer or smart phone,” said Wood. “You can raise or lower blinds, control heating and cooling, turn lights on and off and take a visual tour of your house and property – from across town or across the country.”
The HTown Home and Outdoor Show features an array of exhibitors featuring a wide range of products and services for virtually every aspect of residential living, both inside and out. Whatever your interest, the event is a great resource for research and inspiration.
“For homeowners who know what they want, the event provides information and insight on how to accomplish their goal,” said Wood. “But the show is equally beneficial to those who don’t really know what they want or what is possible. It’s a show that inspires creative thinking.”
And unlike shows that simply display designer motifs and the latest technology, the Sugar Land Home & Garden Show features exhibitors, contractors and specialists who can deliver, install and transform dreams into reality.
“In many cases, homeowners can compare products, get bids and get projects started while they are at the show,” said Wood. “It’s a great way to see a wide range of possibilities – including some they never knew existed.”
But the HTown Home and Outdoor Show is more than major residential expansions and technological upgrades. The event features a wide range of experts in residential living offering live seminars and question-and-answer sessions that address specific situations and concerns.
